Honoring the Sultanate of Oman at the Arab Stamp Exhibition in Cairo

The Vice President of the National Postal Authority honored the Oman Post delegation participating in the Arab Stamp Exhibition, consisting of Siham Al Balushi, Director General of Marketing and Communications at Oman Post, Khaled Al Ameri, Community Outreach Specialist at Oman Post, and Marwa Al Jabri, Head of the Stamps and Collectibles Department in the Sultanate of Oman, as well as the participating delegations, today, At the closing ceremony of the Arab Stamp Exhibition.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Philatelic Society was also honored, and the General Coordinator of the Arab Stamp Exhibition was honored.

On Friday, the Arab Stamp Exhibition, which was inaugurated by Dr. Sherif Farouk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Post, began in the historic Egyptian Post building in Ataba Square, and its activities will be held during the period from January 5 to 7.

The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the exhibition, along with 7 Arab countries, in the presence of more than 16 exhibitors from representatives of the postal authorities of Arab countries, the Egyptian Philatelic Society, and more than 25 exhibitors from philatelists in Egypt. It comes under the umbrella of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, represented by the Council of Arab Ministers of Communications.

The hobby of collecting stamps is one of the oldest and most widespread in the world. It is an educational hobby that documents customs, traditions, and important events that occurred in the world and commemorates many personalities and achievements.

Oman Post offers “stamps and collectibles” a variety of high-end stamps and souvenirs, in addition to exclusive books that meet the needs of enthusiasts and visitors.

In view of the great interest that the Sultanate of Oman attaches to Omani National Day, the Omani Post pavilion at the exhibition witnesses many stamps issued on the occasion of the celebration of Omani National Day, including the postage stamp for the celebration of the 52nd anniversary of National Day, decorated with a picture of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, surrounded by many Historical landmarks of the Sultanate of Oman.

The Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion also includes the special stamp issued by the Sultanate of Oman on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which collects pictures of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion also includes a postage stamp issued on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, as well as a postage stamp on the occasion of choosing the city of Muscat as the Arab Digital Capital, which reflects the extent of the digital progress witnessed by the Sultanate of Oman in the digital and technological field.

The Sultanate of Oman Postal Pavilion at the exhibition also includes the most prominent stamps, exclusive collectibles, and postage stamps issued in the Sultanate of Oman, and which bore witness to many historical periods that the Sultanate of Oman lived through, including: a papyrus card on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the opening of Muscat International Airport, which It was previously called Seeb Airport.
