Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, stated that the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States was keen to congratulate the President on his re-election for a new presidential term, expressing his wishes for success and progress for the benefit of the Egyptian people and the Arab nation, which is what Mr. President valued.
He stressed Egypt’s keenness to continue Egypt’s approach in support of the Arab League, believing in its pivotal role in joint Arab action and preserving the unity of the Arab ranks, in the face of the complex and unprecedented challenges facing the region.
In this context, the meeting discussed the most important issues and challenges on the scene, most notably the developments in the situation in the Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip, and the intensified efforts aimed at a ceasefire, implementing humanitarian aid, and activating the two-state solution path, leading to the Palestinian people obtaining their legitimate rights and establishing the Palestinian state.
