The Speaker of the Arab Parliament follows up on the general elections in Bangladesh at the head of a parliamentary delegation

In response to the invitation he received from the Committee concerned with organizing elections in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to participate as an international observer in following up on the general elections that Bangladesh witnessed on January 7, 2024, Mr. Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoumi, President of the Arab Parliament, led a parliamentary delegation to participate in following up on the elections. The twelfth year that the country has witnessed.

In this context, Al-Asoumi stressed that the Arab Parliament is an international institution keen to follow up on the electoral elections in which it is invited to participate as an international observer, based on its keenness to activate Arab parliamentary diplomacy at all levels and strengthen its parliamentary partnerships, especially in light of the distinguished relations between The People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Arab countries in all fields.

The Arab Parliament delegation, headed by Al-Asoumi, was keen to visit as many electoral committees as possible to follow up on the progress of the voting process. Before the start of the elections, the Arab Parliament delegation listened to an explanation of the rules and regulations governing and regulating the conduct of the elections.

The Arab Parliament delegation is scheduled to prepare a comprehensive report on monitoring the general elections in Bangladesh, including all its observations on the conduct of the electoral process, and send a copy of it to the entity or body concerned with organizing elections in the Republic of Bangladesh.
