South Africa provided an 84-page document submitted to the court with evidence from different sources that Israel’s actions in Gaza are definitely genocide under international law.
Their 84-page document claimed that disproportionate military force targeted civilian infrastructure, resulting in widespread destruction and fatalities. Forced displacement refers to actions that forced more than 1.9 million Palestinians to leave their homes in Gaza. Segregation and restrictions establish a system of isolation and control over Palestinians, restricting their movement and access to resources. Intimidation and harassment, psychological pressure, and fear methods were used to repress Palestinian resistance.
South African lawyers stated that the current Gaza war is part of Israel’s decades-long oppression of Palestinians. Furthermore, the South African legal team alleged that “Israeli soldiers take photos of themselves celebrating the destruction of towns and villages.”
Israel claims that this is self-defense and denies the charge of genocide, calling it “absurd” and “politically motivated.” They maintain that their military operations in Gaza are valid self-defense measures against Hamas and other militant groups that conduct rocket strikes on Israel.
Danny Ayalon, Israel’s former deputy foreign minister and ambassador to the US, stated on Israeli channel ‘14’, “South Africa works as a collaborator for the PA, and it may have receiving funds from Iran.”
Obviously, no western country supports South Africa’s genocide claims against Israel. On the other hand, the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Jordan, Malaysia, the Maldives, Namibia, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Turkey, and Venezuela have all supported the South African genocide case against Israel.
