Ambassador Tariq Ali Al-Ansari met with the Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Cairo, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, to discuss and discuss expanding the horizon of cooperation in the health sector between the two countries, at the Ministry’s General Office in the New Administrative Capital, in the presence of Ambassador Sheikh Ghanem Al Thani, Second Secretary at the Embassy of the State of Qatar.
The Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Cairo praised Egypt’s role in the current events with the Palestinian brothers, stressing that his country is aware of the amount of Egyptian support provided to the injured and sick Palestinians in light of the current events, pointing to his country’s keenness to provide all means of support to Egypt and alleviate the great pressure placed on them. On its responsibility in this regard, he said: “Egypt and Qatar provide an example to be followed in joint action during this crisis.”
The meeting was attended by Dr. Maha Ibrahim, Head of the Secretariat of Specialized Medical Centers, Dr. Hatem Amer, Assistant Minister of Health for International Relations, and Dr. Suzan Al-Zanati, Director General of the External Health Relations Department at the Ministry of Health.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the minister affirmed at the beginning of the meeting that Egypt and Qatar share strategic relations in various fields, noting that the recent period the two countries have witnessed complete coordination in an attempt to alleviate the suffering of our Palestinian brothers due to the current events they are going through.
Abdul Ghaffar continued that the two sides discussed the efforts made during the last period to provide medical support to the injured and sick in the Gaza Strip, whether inside the Palestinian territories or in hospitals in Egypt and Qatar. The two sides also discussed the necessary needs to continue providing continuous medical support to the Palestinian brothers.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the minister discussed with the Qatari side opportunities for cooperation in the field of investment in the health sector, as the minister referred to the incentive package that the Egyptian state is working on to encourage investment in the health sector.
Abdul Ghaffar revealed that the two sides discussed opportunities to reactivate the health agreements between the two countries, within the framework of the two countries’ keenness to sustain cooperative relations in the health sector between the two countries and move them forward.
