El Gouna Film Festival’s (GFF) sixth edition will take place from October 13 to 20, 2023. The GFF is one of the leading film festivals in the MENA region, becoming one of the most significant film festivals in the Arab world and plays an important role in developing the film industry.
The festival will screen a wide range of films from all over the world, including films that are participating in the competition and films out of the competition.
The GFF programs consists of narrative competition, documentary competition, short films competition, cinema for humanity audience award, and green star award.
The festival provides an opportunity for filmmakers to show their work and establish connections with others in the field. Also, it helps to introduce Arab films to the whole world.
And for the first time in arab film festivals the opening movie will be the Egyptian short film ‘Sixty Egyptian Pounds’, written and directed by Amr Salama and starring for the first time Egyptian trap artist Ziad Zaza.
The festival also will hold a number of events such as conferences and workshops.
