A delegation from the Arab League participates in the 43rd session of the General Assembly of the Arab States Broadcasting Union

The delegation of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, headed by Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the Media and Communication Sector, and the membership of Ms. Minister Plenipotentiary Nasima Chhar, Director of the Media Department, participated in the 43rd session of the General Assembly of the Arab States Broadcasting Union and the third session of the Arab Media Conference. During the period from 16 to 18 January 2024 in the Republic of Tunisia.

On this occasion, Ambassador Khattabi stated that the participation of the media and communication sector in these meetings under the guidance of the Secretary-General confirms the importance that the General Secretariat attaches to developing cooperation and coordination with the Arab States Broadcasting Union, which is one of the effective specialized bodies that contributed to launching training and training programs, and enhancing programmatic exchange. Encouraging joint media production and strengthening ties and professional cooperation in the audio-visual field between Arab countries, as well as forging multiple partnerships with similar regional and international federations.

The Ambassador also stressed that the participation of the media and communication sector in the Arab Media Conference on the topic “Media in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Bets” falls within the context of efforts aimed at keeping pace with the path of digital transformation and benefiting from the uses of artificial intelligence and the opportunities it provides to advance the quality, competitiveness and capabilities of Arab media at various levels.
