President Sisi and the British Prime Minister discuss developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, to discuss regional developments in light of the current situation in the Gaza Strip.

The call reviewed ongoing endeavors to push towards a ceasefire, protect civilians, and the exchange of captives. President El-Sisi stressed the international community’s responsibility to ensure access to relief aid to the people of the Gaza Strip to end their long humanitarian suffering.

The call also touched on the situation in the Red Sea region and navigation security. The importance of intensive work to avoid expanding the conflict in the region and to enhance the factors of security and stability at the regional level was stressed during the call.
