The Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Cairo, Dr. Arwa Hashem, today, at the “Humanitarian Appeal to Support the Gaza Strip” conference, which was called for by the Egyptian Red Crescent Society and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
The conference was opened by the Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity, Ms. Nevin Al-Qabbaj, Vice Chairman of the Egyptian Red Crescent, in the presence of the Egyptian Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, and a number of ambassadors and leaders of the Red Cross and Red Crescent around the world.
The conference discussed mechanisms for continuing to respond to the repercussions of the extremely difficult humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as supporting humanitarian diplomacy, coordination and cooperation among all international partners, and providing the opportunity to exchange visions and continue efforts that would alleviate the human suffering of the people of the Gaza Strip.
The “International Humanitarian Appeal to Support Gaza,” a conference organized by the Egyptian Red Crescent yesterday, confirmed that Egypt has attached great importance to solidarity and coordinated action to alleviate the suffering of the brothers in Gaza, and Egypt’s position remains one firm, affirming the right of the Palestinian people to remain safe in their lands, and Egypt has committed to By providing support and assistance to the affected brothers in these difficult circumstances, and working with full force to continue this humanitarian bridge of humanitarian and relief aid to reach every person within the Strip.
Participating in the conference were Nevin Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Red Crescent, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, ambassadors and leaders of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement around the world, and representatives of international and non-governmental organizations and humanitarian work partners.
