The Korean Cultural Center in Egypt opened the first Taekwondo Academy course for the year 2024, which includes 40 trainees for the introductory and intermediate levels.
Over the course of 8 weeks, participants will learn the basic movements of Taekwondo, both offensive and defensive, in addition to Bumza performances, under the supervision of Korean coach Ahn Hyung-won, delegated from the World Taekwondo Federation (Kokkyun) to Egypt.
About 700 people applied to participate in the Taekwondo Academy, and only 40 participants were selected for this course. In response to the growing passion for participating in Taekwondo courses, the Cultural Center plans to organize four Taekwondo Academy courses throughout the year.
Oh Sung Ho, Director of the Cultural Center, said that he will make more efforts to meet the great demand for Taekwondo courses in light of the great popularity it enjoys in Egypt, and he expressed his hope that the Egyptian Taekwondo team will achieve more achievements in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Taekwondo courses are one of the centre’s main annual activities, and the Korean Taekwondo Ambassador’s Cup Championship is scheduled to be held later this year.
