President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Ayman Ashour, Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Major Amir Sayed Ahmed, and Chief of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces Major General Ahmed Al-Azazi.

According to Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy, the discussion focused on the state’s efforts to develop colleges and universities throughout Egypt. President El-Sisi was briefed on the progression of efforts to build new universities across the country.

The spokesman also stated that the Minister of Higher Education presented the visions proposed by the committee in charge of plans to develop Historic Cairo, It would restore the city’s luster and reduce the issues it has as a result of the need to restore numerous structures as well as the increasing population density in such areas, which places additional strain on facilities.

In this context, President El-Sisi requested that scientific analysis of the proposed ideas and plans be pursued in all aspects, underlining that the fundamental goal is to protect the city’s original heritage value, While improving citizens’ lives and access to amenities and services, enhancing green areas, safeguarding citizens’ right to a clean, pollution-free environment, and connecting archeological and tourist destinations are all part of initiatives to enhance both domestic and foreign tourism.
