The US Secretary of State, Mr. Antony Blinken, strongly conveyed his concern that 100 days of captivity in Gaza was an unacceptable and lengthy period. He emphasized the United States’ relentless pursuit to reunite all the remaining hostages, including six Americans, with their families. This message was shared by him on the X platform, in a tweet. In a separate address, President Joe Biden expressed his optimism for ongoing correspondence with leaders from Egypt, Qatar, and Israel to secure the release of detainees in Gaza.
On the 100th day of the Gaza conflict, the White House released a statement where President Biden acknowledged that the US’s efforts had not stopped in securing the release of over 100 detainees, including six Americans.
He also highlighted that during Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s recent visit to the Middle East, discussions were held on potential ways to progress towards an agreement for the release of the remaining detainees.
