On Tuesday, Al-Arish International Airport, in North Sinai, received a new aid plane for the Gaza Strip.
An official source in North Sinai said that the plane was coming from the Qatari capital, Doha, and was carrying 8.5 tons of food and relief aid provided by the Qatar Red Crescent.
The source added that the plane’s contents are being unloaded to be transported on trucks from Al-Arish Airport to the Egyptian Red Crescent warehouses in Al-Arish, in preparation for its entry into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah land crossing gate.
The source indicated that this plane is the second to arrive at Al-Arish International Airport in the past hours, as it was preceded by the arrival of a French plane carrying 32 tons of medicines and medical supplies provided by the World Health Organization.
The total number of aircraft that have arrived at Al-Arish Airport since October 12 has reached 489 aircraft, including 398 aircraft that carried more than 13,000 tons of various aid and relief materials to the Gaza Strip provided by 50 Arab and foreign countries and regional and international organizations, in addition to 91 aircraft that carried official delegations. And Arab and international solidarity.
In another context, Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari, Qatar’s ambassador to Cairo, received today Dr. Rami Al-Nazer, Executive Director of the Egyptian Red Crescent, and Dr. Mohamed Salah Ibrahim, Director of the Relief and International Development Sector of the Qatar Red Crescent.
The Qatari ambassador said, in a post on his official account on the social networking site Facebook: “Today, I received Dr. Rami Al-Nazer, Executive Director of the Egyptian Red Crescent, and Dr. Mohamed Salah Ibrahim, Director of the Relief and International Development Sector of the Qatar Red Crescent.”
The Qatari ambassador continued: “We reviewed the ongoing coordination between our two brotherly countries in order to provide a helping hand and relief to our people in the Palestinian territories and the efforts made to continue the flow of humanitarian and relief aid, as an embodiment of our firm positions to support the Palestinian brothers in these exceptional and difficult circumstances.”
