The Egyptian Ambassador to Juba meets with the Minister of Transport in South Sudan

Ambassador Moataz Mustafa Abdel Qader, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Juba, met with Mr. Madut Biaril, Minister of Transport of South Sudan, where he stressed Egypt’s continued keenness to provide various aspects of support to the southern side in all fields, especially the development of road networks, as well as the development of river navigation in line with the South Sudan Plan. Sudan’s strategy to develop this important sector and achieve the maximum possible benefit from it.

For his part, the southern minister explained that the project to develop the internal road network will be launched by the end of this month, expressing his happiness in extending the invitation to the Egyptian ambassador to participate in the inauguration ceremony, as well as their keenness to benefit from Egyptian expertise in the field of infrastructure and roads.

The southern minister also stressed the depth of relations with Egypt, expressing his aspiration to maximize the benefit of Egyptian expertise in the field of river navigation and the development of ports located on the Nile River, enabling them to confront illegal checkpoints on the course of the river.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed on the necessity of activating the cooperation protocol signed between the two parties in the field of developing ports and river wharves during the next stage.
