As part of the embassy’s efforts to stimulate tourism and attract Chinese tourists to Egypt, the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Beijing, in cooperation with the regional office of EgyptAir in China, organized a celebration at the embassy’s headquarters on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the launch of EgyptAir’s first flights to China.
A large number of people participated in the celebration. Chinese officials, major Chinese tourism companies, and Chinese media representatives.
The celebration also included presenting souvenirs to the 21 largest Chinese tourism companies operating in the Egyptian tourism market.
Ambassador Assem Hanafi, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Beijing, delivered a speech in which he referred to the history of relations between Egypt and China and their rise to the rank of comprehensive strategic partnership, which has developed over the past years in all fields, including in the field of civil aviation and tourism, noting that a number Direct flights between Egypt and China have increased recently, and Egypt is currently linked by direct airlines to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hanzhou and Chengdu, making China become the largest station for EgyptAir in Asia.
He added that Egypt has become one of the most important tourist destinations for Chinese tourists, and that the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism announced that it aims to increase the number of Chinese tourists to Egypt to reach 3 million tourists annually by 2028.
The Egyptian Ambassador invited Chinese friends to visit Egypt and its historical and tourist destinations in the coming period with the advent of the Chinese New Year and the Chinese Spring Festival, offering congratulations to the Chinese partners and friends on this occasion.
For their part, the participants from the Chinese side expressed their appreciation for the Egyptian-Chinese relations and the efforts made to increase the number of direct flights, which increases communication between the two countries at the official and popular levels, and deepens communication between the business communities to enhance trade, investment, tourism and cultural exchange between the two sides, stressing the importance of Their aspiration to increase the number of Chinese tourists to Egypt, due to Egypt’s historical and tourist destinations that are attractive to Chinese tourists.
