Ambassador Karim Amin presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Christine Kangalo, as a non-resident ambassador to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
The President of Trinidad and Tobago expressed her great appreciation for the Arab Republic of Egypt, its ancient heritage, and its civilization extending back thousands of years, and her great pride in bilateral relations with Egypt, praising the political consensus between the two countries and the good political relations, and wishing to further develop relations with the Arab Republic of Egypt in various fields.
For his part, Ambassador Karim Amin thanked President Kangalo for receiving him and for her country’s interest in relations with Egypt, stressing the determination to develop relations with the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in all fields, while emphasizing Egypt’s readiness to cooperate and transfer expertise in the economic, medical, and energy fields.
In another context, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a closed bilateral meeting with his counterpart, Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Tahrir Palace.
The two parties stressed that there is a special strategic relationship between the two countries, and close cooperation in facing regional challenges, most notably the war in the Gaza Strip.
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Greek counterpart, George Geraptritis, chaired an expanded discussion session, in the presence of the delegations of both countries, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ headquarters in Tahrir Palace.
The discussion session dealt with following up on cooperation mechanisms between Egypt and Greece at various levels, and consulting on efforts to end the war and humanitarian crisis in Gaza, prevent the expansion of the conflict, and ensure security and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.
Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Director of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, published the proceedings of the joint press conference between the foreign ministers of Egypt and Greece on his official page on the X website.
