The Foreign Minister meets the Acting Foreign Minister of Somalia

Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri met today, Thursday, during his visit to the Ugandan capital, Kampala, to participate in the Non-Aligned Countries Summit, with the Acting Foreign Minister of Somalia, Ali Mohamed Omar.

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman and director of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Mr. Sameh Shoukry stressed during the meeting the importance that Egypt attaches to relations with Somalia in connection with the deep historical ties at the popular and official levels, stressing Egypt’s solidarity with Somalia against attempts to violate its sovereignty and integrity. His lands.

The official spokesman added that Minister Shukri was keen to emphasize the importance that Egypt attaches to the security and stability of Somalia, and the readiness to harness Egyptian capabilities and capabilities to help Somalia build its national cadres, implement its development plans, and support its stability.

For his part, the Somali official welcomed the statement issued by the emergency session of the Council of Arab Foreign Ministers, which expressed the solidarity of the sisterly Arab countries with Somalia. He also praised the positions of many African countries in support of Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid concluded his statements, noting that the two sides agreed to continue consultation and close coordination during the next phase, in support of Somalia and its brotherly people.
