Ambassador Tamer Mamdouh, the Egyptian Ambassador to Quito, met with Mr. Kesar Moreno, Minister of Communications and Information Society of Ecuador, where the meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of communications and information technology.
The Egyptian Ambassador reviewed the Egyptian leadership in the Middle East and Africa regions in the field of communications and information technology and the establishment of smart villages, as well as the extensive Egyptian experience in the field of digital transformation, which has come to include all government agencies in conjunction with the move to the new administrative capital.
The Ecuadorian Minister praised the achievements made by Egypt in this field in recent years, expressing his aspiration for cooperation in the topics of communications and information technology, e-government, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence, as they are topics of interest to his country.
The meeting also witnessed an agreement to organize virtual meetings between the relevant officials of the two countries’ ministries of communications to discuss proposed areas of cooperation, in addition to considering the possibility of preparing a draft memorandum of understanding between the two sides as a legal framework regulating future cooperation frameworks.
