The Palestine Committee in the Arab Parliament discusses the repercussions of the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza

The Palestine Committee of the Arab Parliament held its second meeting, chaired by His Excellency the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Chairman of the Palestine Committee, Mr. Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoumi, where it discussed developments in events and the dangerous escalation that the Palestinian territories occupied since 104 days of Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Jerusalem, are taking place. The occupying power (Israel) launched a comprehensive war of annihilation in the Gaza Strip, through mass massacres, which claimed the lives of nearly 25,000 martyrs and 62,000 wounded, more than 75% of whom were children and women, indiscriminate killing in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and its bloody escalation against the Palestinian people.

The continued intransigent Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip, the cutting off of all vital services to the people, including water, electricity, and foodstuffs, the escalation of extremist settler attacks, the killings and arrests of Palestinian citizens, and the burning of their property under the protection of the occupation forces.

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament affirmed that the Arab Parliament will continue its efforts to support Palestine and complete its procedures regarding the lawsuit submitted by the Arab Parliament to the International Criminal Court to investigate Israel’s crimes. The members of the Palestine Committee also denounced, during the meeting held at the headquarters of the Arab Parliament in Cairo today, the crimes committed by the existing power. The occupation, its bloody escalation and the racist practices practiced against the Palestinian people and the brave prisoners. ‎

The Palestine Committee called on the international community and active parties to intervene immediately to stop the aggression and protect defenseless civilians, including children, women and the elderly, through the international system, and to put pressure on the occupying power to urge it to stop attacks and provocative actions against the Palestinian people, adhere to the rules of international humanitarian law, and force it to submit to the established will for peace. International law, stressing the Arab Parliament’s firm position in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with the city of Jerusalem as its capital.

The committee issued a draft resolution that will be presented to the next session of the Arab Parliament scheduled to be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 AD.
