The Egyptian Ambassador in Moscow meets with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia

With the beginning of Egypt’s membership in the BRICS group under Russia’s presidency for the current session of the grouping, Ambassador Nazih Al-Najari, the Egyptian ambassador to Moscow, met with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arms Control and American Affairs, and a Russian Sherpa at the BRICS gathering.

The meeting witnessed a discussion of the priorities of the Russian presidency of the bloc during the year 2024, and the various frameworks and paths of cooperation within the framework of BRICS, in preparation for the first meeting of the bloc’s member states, which will be held in Moscow at the end of this month.

The Egyptian ambassador also reviewed the Egyptian national efforts for effective and active integration into the various aspects of cooperation among the countries of the group, and thanked the Russian side for its efforts to provide the necessary climate for the newly joined countries to integrate into the work mechanisms within the group.

The meeting also touched on a number of other international and regional issues, especially arms control and nuclear non-proliferation.
