The Russian Cultural Center in Cairo, in cooperation with the Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities, is organizing a symposium with the Russian delegation of writers and critics participating in the Cairo International Book Fair, at six in the evening on Wednesday, January 24, in the seminar hall at the center’s headquarters in Dokki.
According to a statement issued by the Al-Raw Cultural Center in Cairo, the symposium will begin in the presence of: Vladimir Belyakov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor at the Oriental Institute and Editor-in-Chief of the “Archive Al-Sharq” magazine, and the author of several books on the history of Egyptian-Russian relations.
And also the writer Dmitry Streshnev, a member of the Russian Writers’ Union and an expert on Middle Eastern affairs, for whom several novels have been translated into Arabic, and the literary critic Kirill Korchagin, who specializes in literary sciences and literary studies, Yekaterina Sobol, a writer in the “Youth Literature” magazine, the journalist and literary critic Afanas Mamedov, and the writer Marina. Moskvina, and the meeting is moderated by Sherif Gad, head of cultural activity and head of the Alumni Association.
For his part, Murat Gatin, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, indicated that Wednesday’s meeting will provide the opportunity to learn about the latest innovations of Russian writers, and the most important literary publications that have appeared in Russia recently. Gatin welcomed the presence of Egyptian writers and writers to communicate with their colleagues from the Russian delegation.
It is worth noting that the delegation of Russian writers and critics is participating in the Cairo International Book Fair, organized by the “Rutenia” publishing house, under the supervision of Anna Chuenkova, and with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Communications and Media of the Russian Federation.
