Today, Sunday, the Arab Parliament will hold its second session of the fourth session of the third legislative term, headed by Mr. Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoumi, President of the Arab Parliament, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
The session will discuss a number of important items, most notably the developments related to the Palestinian issue and the grave challenges that the Arab world is going through in light of the current conditions, as well as the reports of the four permanent Arab Parliament committees, which are the Foreign, Political and National Security Affairs Committee, the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee, and the Legislative, Legal and Rights Affairs Committee. The Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee discussed the human rights situation report for the year 2023 AD, and discussed an Arab parliamentary vision to address the negative repercussions. natural disasters on human rights in the Arab world, and a draft Arab indicative law to combat the phenomenon of bullying in the Arab world.
While the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee reviewed efforts to activate Arab agreements in economic affairs in a number of Arab countries, and the initiative to prepare an Arab strategy to support entrepreneurship in Arab countries, and discuss laws, legislation and visions that enhance the digital economy, the committee also reviewed the preparations for the second edition of the forum. The Social, Educational, Women and Youth Affairs Committee discussed the adoption of the parliamentary document for Arab women, the axes of the report on the social situation in the Arab world for the year 2023, and the follow-up of the arrangement to hold a symposium on protecting societal values in the Arab world, in addition to discussing the participation of young people in public life and studying the elimination of unemployment and the multiplicity and diversity of sources. The work of young graduates, and the study of developing a parliamentary vision for preparing a database of Arab antiquities.
