Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoumi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, affirmed that our contemporary world has not witnessed a humanitarian crisis worse than what the Gaza Strip is witnessing, which has turned into a disaster area and a mass grave, in every sense of the word, denouncing that the world is now dealing with crimes of genocide and dozens of martyrs and wounded in The Gaza Strip on a daily basis, as if they were just numbers, without doing anything to stop these massacres, and the international community is still content with the role of spectator to what is happening.
Al-Asoumi said in his speech, “We must recognize and acknowledge that what has happened since the seventh of last October, with all the tragedies and suffering it brings to our Palestinian people, nevertheless represented an important turning point in changing the world’s outlook toward this brutal entity. It also contributed to understanding Deeper protection for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and their just cause.”
This came in his speech during the opening of the second session of the Arab Parliament of the fourth session of the third legislative term, which was held today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament renewed his call for a boycott and urged all the peoples of the free world to boycott the products of anyone who supports the occupying power, stressing the need for the Arab countries to be united and one voice in the face of forced displacement plans and attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
Al-Asoumi also said in his speech, “At a time when we condemn the positions of shame and disgrace of many Western countries that support the killers of women, children, and the elderly in the State of Palestine, and the positions of the governments of these countries whose hands are stained with the blood of these innocent people, we must salute and stand in reverence and respect for the positions of free countries.” Which triumphed for the principles of truth, justice and humanity.”
In this context, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament saluted the Republic of South Africa, its leadership, government, parliament and people, for its historical positions and the unprecedented step it took, by filing a lawsuit against the occupying power, “Israel”, before the International Court of Justice, in support of the Palestinian people and in defense of their just cause. He also saluted The positions of the countries that supported this lawsuit.
During his speech, Al-Asomi announced the Arab Parliament’s decision to award His Excellency Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa, the International Medal, which is the highest honor presented by the Arab Parliament to leaders and international leaders who support the issues of the Arab nation and contribute to its victory, stressing that it is a simple message to express the thanks and appreciation of the Arab people for their positions. The noble Republic of South Africa supporting the Palestinian people.
Al-Asomi said that trying this usurping and occupying entity before the International Court of Justice is a first step, which must be followed by other steps, noting that the sessions of the International Court of Justice have made it clear that it is a fragile entity that only understands the language of weapons, and that it is easy to expose and expose it in front of the whole world.
