Kremlin spokesman: The Russian President will participate in a very important event in Egypt soon

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that preparations are being made for Russian President Vladimir Putin to participate in a very important ceremony taking place in Egypt soon.

He said that Putin will participate in the event of pouring concrete for the fourth reactor at the Dabaa nuclear station that Russia is building in Egypt, noting that preparations are being made for that.

Peskov added that the reactor core trap is one of the basic elements in the station’s safety system, and reflects the highest rates of nuclear safety to ensure the safe and continuous operation of the station, which is one of the distinctive equipment of the advanced Russian third generation 3+ reactors, adding that the trap is a unique protection system that is installed. Below the bottom of the reactor vessel in order to increase the degree of safety and security of the station.

On November 19, 2015, Egypt and Russia signed a cooperation agreement to establish a nuclear power plant at an investment cost of $25 billion.

At the beginning of this January, Amjad Al-Wakil, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority in Egypt, announced the arrival of the reactor core trap for the second nuclear unit, expressing his aspiration to move towards starting to implement the project’s features during the current year 2024.
