Ambassador Abu Zeid added that Minister Shukri noted Egypt’s role in helping the European Union diversify its energy sources, and the cooperation witnessed by the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum in this regard, pointing to the investment conference scheduled to be organized in Egypt during the current year, which constitutes an opportunity to enhance cooperation. The official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs concluded his statements by noting that the European Commission expressed during the meeting the European side’s appreciation for the important role played by Egypt in the field of energy, setting an example of the importance of the memorandum of understanding that was signed with Egypt on the sidelines of the COP27 conference for cooperation in the field of green hydrogen. Emphasizing the intention of the EU countries to provide more support to Egypt in renewable energy projects.
