The President of the Union of Arab Chambers appreciates the role of the Arab League and Bahrain in entrepreneurship

President of the General Union of the Union of Arab Chambers, Khaled Hanafi, said: “We value the role of the Arab League, Bahrain, and the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, for their efforts, which represent a beacon in the field of entrepreneurship.”

Hanafi stressed that cooperation is unconventional and brings together the Arab League, the umbrella of the Arabs and the United Nations, represented by UNIDO.

He added: “It is a message of peace and development in light of the difficult circumstances that the Arab region is going through, so that hope remains in the youth or entrepreneurs. They are latent energies to which we must open the energy of creativity so that they can be beneficial to themselves and their countries in light of a studied scientific context, through increasing investment and creating job opportunities.” Without relying on traditional work and focusing on adopting innovative ideas.”

He also stressed that “what cannot be agreed upon politically, we may agree on economically. Therefore, we hope that the results of the forum will be included in the Arab Summit, and we also hope that they will be approved by the Arab leaders, so that it is just the beginning. Finally, I would like to say thank you to those who raise the banner of innovation.”

In another context, the economic sector organized the (15th) meeting of the committee of legal experts concerned with developing the dispute settlement regulations within the framework of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, in implementation of the decisions of the Economic and Social Council, which directed the need for the committee to quickly complete the update of the dispute settlement mechanism as soon as possible, during The period is January 22-24, 2024 at the headquarters of the General Secretariat.

The Committee updates the regulations for settling commercial disputes within the framework of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, which was approved by Economic and Social Council Resolution No. 1317 – Let. 59 dated 2/19/1997, and in particular what was stipulated in the sixth regarding the settlement of disputes, “In line with Article Thirteen of the Agreement to Facilitate and Develop Trade Exchange between Arab Countries, the Committee shall have jurisdiction over all issues related to the application of the Agreement to Facilitate and Develop Trade Exchange among Arab Countries, as well as any Disagreement over the application of this program, to keep pace with developments in global trade, mainly in the multilateral trading system in this regard. This regulation is also concerned with dealing with all disputes arising from the application of the Agreement on Facilitation and Development of Trade Exchange and its executive program.
