The Egyptian Ambassador to Rwanda meets with the Rwandan Minister of Trade and Industry

Ambassador Nermin Al-Zawahiri, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Rwanda, met with Jeanne Ngabitsinzi, Minister of Trade and Industry of Rwanda, where the meeting discussed ways to advance economic cooperation between Egypt and Rwanda.

It was also agreed to strengthen communication mechanisms between Cairo and Kigali to continue removing obstacles to the development of economic cooperation between the two sides, in an effort to enhance the volume of bilateral trade, in addition to presenting a number of proposals to develop investments, bilateral trade, and the opportunities available in this framework.

The Egyptian Ambassador stressed the importance of investing in the privacy of the relations between the political leadership of the two countries to advance the prospects for trade cooperation, which is what the Rwandan Minister assured of, stressing his interest and the leadership of his ministry in raising the level of trade relations between the two countries. The Rwandan Minister also expressed the keenness of his ministry’s leaders to host their Egyptian counterparts to learn about the investment opportunities available on the ground and discuss ways to benefit from Egyptian expertise in the commercial and industrial fields.

In another context, the Arab Republic of Egypt welcomed, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the decision of the International Court of Justice to have primary jurisdiction to look into Israel’s commission of the crime of genocide in the Gaza Strip, and demanded the implementation of a number of immediate temporary measures aimed at providing protection for the Palestinians, the most important of which is that Israel stop committing Crimes of killing Palestinians and causing physical or moral harm to them, or subjecting them to living conditions aimed at their physical destruction, in addition to the court’s demand that Israel ensure the immediate provision of urgent humanitarian needs in the Gaza Strip.

The Arab Republic of Egypt stressed that it was looking forward to the International Court of Justice requesting an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, as the Court ruled in similar cases, as the main guarantee for the implementation of the necessary and emergency measures it approved to protect Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip. She stressed the need to respect and implement the decisions of the International Court of Justice as the main judicial body of the United Nations.

The Arab Republic of Egypt also called on Israel to immediately implement all measures contained in the decision of the International Court of Justice, which represents the beginning of the path to enforcing the rules of international law and international humanitarian law regarding providing protection to the Palestinian people, and putting an end to the attacks and violations practiced against them, which claimed the lives of more than 26,000 people. of innocent civilians, two-thirds of whom are women and children, reiterating its call to the Security Council and influential international parties to bear responsibility for explicitly demanding a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire.

Egypt stressed the continuation of movements and communications in cooperation with United Nations agencies and international and regional parties, in order to end the crisis, prevent any measures targeting the forced displacement of Palestinians, and ensure the entry of urgent humanitarian and relief aid into the Strip in a manner sufficient to meet the needs of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
