The annual international conference of the Cybersecurity and Anti-Fraud Group of the International Mobile Networks Association was launched in the Sultanate of Oman and continues for three days. The conference, which is attended by more than 150 experts and specialists, aims to discuss mobile phone fraud issues and various security threats in information technology and digital technology.
The conference focuses on issues that can affect information technology through presentations and discussions. To keep pace with the latest developments in the field of fraud and security, especially in mobile phones, review evolving threats, regulatory changes and technological advances in this field while providing insights into emerging trends and best practices, and developing and implementing effective solutions to combat mobile fraud and security threats.
Abdullah bin Hamoud Al Barwani, Director General of Information and Communications Security at Omantel, said: The company’s hosting of the annual international conference of the Cybersecurity Group of the International Mobile Networks Association came to focus on enhancing cooperation between regulatory bodies around the world on the one hand, and operators and security manufacturers. Information, and the association aims to enhance cooperation in order to improve the general environment.
He added: The conference includes presenting 50 working papers, with the aim of exchanging experiences locally and internationally, and learning about what is new in the field of cybersecurity and combating fraud, to come up with important points to be followed up and benefited from.
With regard to combating mobile phone fraud, he explained that “Omantel” contributed to the preparation of regulations related to protection against fraud and risks related to cybersecurity issued by the International Mobile Networks Association Foundation, pointing out that hosting the conference comes within the interest and active participation of “Omantel” in the association.
