The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States received at its headquarters, Minister Nevin Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity of the Arab Republic of Egypt, chairing the 43rd session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, and Minister Maryam Al-Misnad, Minister of Social Development and Family in the State of Qatar, chairing the previous 42nd session of the Council, where the meeting began by honoring… Minister Maryam Al-Misnad for her efforts to enhance joint Arab social and developmental work and within the framework of strengthening Egyptian-Qatari relations in social fields and humanitarian aid.
Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh – Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the Social Affairs Sector, congratulated Minister Maryam Al-Misnad on this well-deserved honor and the important initiatives that took place at the Arab level in various social and humanitarian magazines during her presidency of the 42nd session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, and indicated that the meeting Discussing preparations for the “High-Level Arab Forum for Multidimensional Social Development” organized by the State of Qatar on February 7 and 8 under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al Thani – Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.
The meeting gave special attention to the issue of implementing the decisions of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, to provide social and humanitarian support to the people of the Gaza Strip in light of the difficult circumstances, the continuation of the inhumane actions of Israel – the occupying power, and the increase in the numbers of martyrs and wounded.
Ambassador Abu Ghazaleh explained that the meeting also discussed the implementation of the Arab Summit resolution and the decision of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs to adopt the “Second Arab Decade for Persons with Disabilities 2023-2032,” as well as preparations for the implementation of the Egyptian initiative, which the Council welcomed, to establish the Arab Mechanism for the Linkage of Social Development Institutions and Banks under The umbrella of the League of Arab States.
