European Union Ambassador: Egypt is making unprecedented efforts in modern irrigation and water treatment

Major General Gamal Nour El-Din, Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, received a delegation of European Union ambassadors, headed by Ambassador Christian Berger, Ambassador and Head of the European Union Delegation, today, Thursday, at the General Office, to discuss ways of cooperation and inspect the expansions of the Metobas wastewater treatment plant and the Nile Delta protection project. And the Kafr El-Sheikh Museum, in the presence of Amr El-Bashbishi, Deputy Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, Major General Abdel Ghaffar El-Deeb, Assistant Secretary-General of the Governorate, and a number of ambassadors of European Union countries.
Ambassador Christian Berger, Ambassador and head of the European Union delegation, stated that a number of sanitation projects were visited in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, which are funded by the European Investment Bank, pointing out the importance of community awareness to rationalize the use of water and preserve it from pollution, noting that the Egyptian state is making extraordinary efforts. It is unprecedented in the fields of canal rehabilitation, modern irrigation, water treatment, rehabilitation of water facilities, protection from the dangers of floods, and protection of beaches, to achieve sustainable development.

Commemorative shields were exchanged between the ambassador, the head of the European Union delegation, and the governor of Kafr El-Sheikh.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Christian Berger, Ambassador and Head of the European Union Delegation, presented the European Union Shield with a souvenir gift to Major General Gamal Nour El-Din, Governor of Kafr El Sheikh. The Governor of Kafr El Sheikh also presented the Governorate Shield to the head of the delegation of European Union Ambassadors, in appreciation of the support of the state’s efforts to improve the quality of… Life, environmental protection, and pollutant reduction in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate.
