Blinken visits the Middle East to discuss reaching a humanitarian truce that would allow aid to be delivered to Gaza

The official spokesman for the US State Department, Matthew Miller, announced the details of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s visit to the Middle East, specifically the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Israel, and the West Bank.
According to a statement carried by the American Embassy in Cairo, the official spokesman for the US State Department announced that Secretary Anthony Blinken will arrive on a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Israel, and the West Bank from February 4 to 8, 2024, which is his fifth trip to the region since the events of October 7.

He added: The Minister will continue diplomatic efforts to reach an agreement that guarantees the release of all remaining hostages and includes a humanitarian truce that allows for the sustainable and increased delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza.

He continued: The Minister will continue to work to prevent the spread of the conflict, while reiterating that the United States will take appropriate steps to defend its personnel and the right to freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.

He added: The Minister will also continue discussions with partners on how to create a more integrated, peaceful region that includes permanent security for Israelis and Palestinians alike.
