Our ambassador to Hungary participates in signing an agreement between the two countries in the field of communications

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, Egyptian Ambassador to Hungary, stated that Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, visited Hungary from January 30 to February 2, 2024.

The Minister participated with a delegation from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and a delegation from Telecom Egypt, headed by Engineer Mohamed Nasr, Managing Director and CEO of the company, in the celebration held to sign the commercial agreement between Telecom Egypt and the Hungarian 4IG company to establish the first submarine communications cable linking Egypt and Albania and from there to The Balkans and Eastern and Central Europe.

Ambassador El-Shenawy added that the Minister of Communications and Information Technology also met during the visit with the Hungarian Minister of National Economy, Marton Nagy, who in turn also participated in the celebration on the occasion of the signing of the trade agreement, where it was emphasized during the bilateral meeting that brought together the two ministers the need to intensify bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Hungary. In various fields related to communications and information technology.

The Egyptian Ambassador pointed out that the visit of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology to Hungary also witnessed participation in a workshop held at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics with the participation of a number of prominent academics and professors at Hungarian universities, which discussed future cooperation opportunities between Egypt and Hungary in the emerging fields of technology. The visit also witnessed the Minister’s participation in a meeting that included major Hungarian companies working in the field of communications and information technology.

The visit also witnessed the Minister’s meeting with the Secretary of State at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs concerned with bilateral relations, Tamás Mincer, who stressed the depth and strength of relations between Egypt and Hungary, and that bilateral relations between the two countries had recently risen to the level of strategic partnership, stressing Hungary’s keenness to develop its relations with Egypt. In all fields, especially with the fundamental and fundamental role that Egypt plays in the Middle East region, especially in achieving stability and confronting the phenomenon of illegal immigration.
