The Russian Embassy and RT Arabi channel celebrate the 80th anniversary of Russian-Egyptian relations

The Russian Embassy in Cairo and the Russia Today Arabic channel organized a party at the Cairo Opera House on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Russian-Egyptian diplomatic relations.

During the party, the premiere of the documentary film entitled “Coming and Returning” was held, which tells the vivid story of the life of Viktor Yakushev, the Soviet military translator who served on Egyptian soil in the early 1970s. After half a century had passed, he returned to Egypt and traveled to familiar places immersed in memories. The veteran can see the progress in development achieved by the country of Egypt, which he loved, and feel the love and respect for Russia that still lives in the hearts of Egyptians.

The ceremony was opened by the Russian Ambassador to Egypt, Georgy Borisenko, who pointed out that relations between the two peoples have always been characterized by warmth and special friendship and in recent years have reached the level of a strategic partnership.

Egyptian Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Khaled Amara pointed to the rich traditions and great prospects for bilateral cooperation.
Director of Russia Today Arabic Channel, Maya Manaa, thanked the Egyptian audience for their great interest in the channel and its objective coverage of global events.

After the premiere of the film, which received very positive reactions from those present, the guests were able to familiarize themselves with an interesting exhibition prepared by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs that tells the different stages of interaction with Egypt.
