The Minister of Interior and his Bahraini counterpart discuss security cooperation and coordination between the two countries

The Bahraini Minister praised the distinguished security cooperation and coordination between the two countries, which is witnessing tangible development in various fields, especially with the meetings of the Joint Security Committee, noting that security, in general, faces modern challenges, including the misuse of social media, cyber attacks, and drones. Drone and the illegal use of some artificial intelligence applications, proposing the formation of a joint working group to analyze the modern risks and threats that security in general and Arab security in particular suffer from.

At the conclusion of his speech, the Bahraini Minister expressed his wishes to the Egyptian Minister of Interior and the accompanying delegation for a successful visit that contributes to enhancing the prospects for security cooperation in various fields to achieve common interests in maintaining security and stability and unifying positions in facing current and future security challenges, wishing the joint meeting success and success in serving the country. The interests of the two brotherly countries.

For his part; Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, Minister of the Interior, stressed the depth of the cooperation between the two brotherly countries, noting that his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain comes within the framework of close relations and ongoing consultation between officials of the two countries.

The Egyptian Minister stressed the Egyptian Ministry of Interior’s constant keenness to build bridges of communication with the ministries of the Interior and security agencies in the sisterly Arab countries, expressing his welcome to work on strengthening integration mechanisms and exchanging experiences between the Egyptian and Bahraini sides, based on the full belief in the importance of supporting the message of security and stability in the Arab countries.

After that, discussions began between the two sides, which included discussing a number of security issues, with the aim of enhancing cooperation and coordination in the field of security work and building on what has been achieved in the process of security cooperation with the aim of improving performance to confront security challenges and rapid changes on the regional and international arenas.

The discussions also addressed a number of joint cooperation topics, including child protection in cyberspace, where a scientific study was reviewed related to ways to control cyberspace to protect children from abnormal ideas, based on the keenness of both sides to provide complete protection for children in cyberspace, and it was decided Referring the issue for further research during the meetings of the joint security committee between the Ministries of the Interior of the two countries.

The discussions also included cooperation in the fields of social protection, family protection offices, alternative punishments and open prisons, community service police, financial investigations, the criminal laboratory, combating drugs, human trafficking and organized crime, enhancing cybersecurity and electronic transformation in police services.

The Minister of Interior had arrived in the Kingdom of Bahrain, where he was received at Bahrain International Airport by Lieutenant General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, a number of senior officials in the ministry and the Governor of Muharraq Governorate.
