The Chinese President, General Secretary of the Communist Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Xi Jinping, met with officials of the Central Committees of all non-Communist parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and representatives of non-party figures to welcome the Spring Festival in the Great Hall of the People.
On behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Xi extended sincere Chinese New Year congratulations and wishes to the non-Communist parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, non-party figures and members of the united front.
The event was attended by Wang Huning, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Cai Qi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, and Deng Xuexiang, Member Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council.

Xi Jinping delivered an important speech, stressing that the year 2023 was exceptional. He added: We have also accelerated the improvement of the new system for mobilizing resources at the national level, achieving new breakthroughs in scientific and technological innovation, and promoting the development of new productive forces.
He added: Our country succeeded in holding the third session of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and the China-Central Asia Summit, and in encouraging the BRICS countries to increase the number of their members, so the influence of the diplomacy of a large country with Chinese characteristics, its inspiring ability, and the power of shaping its image increased significantly and increasingly.
He added: We have effectively responded to a series of major natural disasters, such as floods in northern and northeastern China, earthquakes in Gansu and Qinghai provinces, and earthquakes in Xinjiang, and successfully hosted the 31st International Federation of University Sports World Summer University Games in Chengdu and the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, where we achieved Our country’s athletes once again achieve great achievements.
