The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs added, in the statement distributed by the Pakistani Embassy in Cairo, a copy of which was obtained by Al-Fajr: We are surprised by the negative tone of some statements, which do not take into account the complexity of the electoral process, and do not acknowledge the free and enthusiastic exercise of the right to vote by dozens. Millions of Pakistanis.

She pointed out that the statements ignore the undeniable fact that Pakistan held peaceful and successful general elections, while dealing with serious security threats caused primarily by foreign-sponsored terrorism.

She added that some of the statements are not even realistic, and there was no nationwide internet shutdown, and only mobile phone services were suspended during the day to avoid terrorist incidents on polling day. Continue: The electoral process has shown that the fears of many commentators were misplaced.

She noted that Pakistan held the elections as part of its commitment to building a stable and democratic society, continuing: While we appreciate the constructive advice provided by our friends, making negative comments even before the electoral process ends is neither constructive nor objective.

The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: Pakistan will continue to work to build a vibrant democratic system of government. Every election and peaceful transfer of power brings us closer to this goal.

She continued: We do this not because of concerns expressed by others, but because this is the aspiration of our people and the vision of our founding fathers.
