Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Badr Al Busaidi, met with the CEO of BMW, the German luxury car manufacturer, Oliver Zipes, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
During the meeting, opportunities for partnership and cooperation in the transportation sector, transfer of manufacturing and technological knowledge, and ways to develop smart infrastructure were discussed.
Minister Badr Al Busaidi expressed his appreciation for the friendly and strong relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Germany, noting the importance of enhancing economic cooperation and exchanging experiences in various fields.
For his part, Oliver Zipes expressed BMW’s interest in expanding its global presence and enhancing cooperation with leading companies and governments in the automotive sector and the logistics sector in general.
He expressed the company’s readiness to explore investment opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman and provide its expertise and advanced technologies in the field of luxury and sustainable cars.
This meeting comes in the context of the Sultanate of Oman’s efforts to enhance economic cooperation with global countries and develop the industrial sector.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Maitha bint Saif Al Mahrouqi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman accredited to the Federal Republic of Germany, and a number of officials from both sides.
