India’s Foreign Minister calls for a permanent solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict

Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar called for the importance of reaching a permanent solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, represented by the two-state solution.

In a statement distributed by the Indian Embassy in Cairo, during his participation in the currently held Munich Security Conference, Jaishankar stressed the importance of returning the hostages, taking into account the losses among civilians in Gaza.

Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India believes that immediate measures to protect Israel and provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people must be complemented by a “permanent solution” two-state solution.

He stressed the need for a sustainable humanitarian corridor to provide aid, and ultimately, there must be a permanent solution, a long-term solution, “otherwise we will witness a repetition,” referring to the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
