The Omani Minister of Endowments said in a statement during the opening of the Muscat International Book Fair in its twenty-eighth edition this evening, Wednesday, “We saw elaborate preparations, effective cultural momentum, and remarkable progress by the Omani publishing houses, which were distinguished by providing what is valuable and useful to the Omani and Arab reader alike.”
He added that the increase in the number of countries participating in the Muscat International Book Fair, and the cultural and diverse programs, reflects the continuous efforts of individuals and supporting institutions, and clearly shows the interest paid by the organizers of this event, and is a firm commitment to the continuous improvement and development of this rich cultural event.
He pointed out that the indicators surveyed reinforce this lofty development, and emphasize the noble goal of enhancing knowledge, developing the book market, and enriching the Omani library with the newest and finest publications from international publishing houses, in various scientific and literary fields.
