The UAE expresses great disappointment with the results of the Security Council vote on a ceasefire in Gaza

The United Arab Emirates expressed great disappointment at the results of the Security Council’s vote on the draft humanitarian ceasefire resolution, which was supported by 13 out of 15 members, and after more than four months of killing and displacement, with no end in sight, follow-up: Anne This war must end.

In another context, the Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council, Saqr Ghobash, held a discussion session with Counselor Dr. Hanafi Jabali, Speaker of the House of Representatives, at the Council’s headquarters during his official visit at the head of a delegation to Cairo.

During the session, the two sides discussed enhancing aspects of parliamentary cooperation and coordination between the two brotherly councils, unifying positions, visions and directions regarding various issues of common interest in various regional and international parliamentary forums, in addition to exchanging visits and parliamentary activities and supporting the directions of the governments of the two countries and their keenness to activate cooperation in all fields and benefit from what they enjoy. Countries have distinguished relations with various countries of the world, institutions and international organizations in working to achieve peace, security and stability in the world.

The two sides affirmed that the relations of the two brotherly countries are proceeding according to the highest levels of coordination and are based on mutual respect and striving to achieve the interests of the two brotherly peoples. They stressed the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations between the two countries and coordinating positions on issues of common concern, most notably Arab national security and Arab solidarity.

The meeting was attended by Sultan Salem Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Friendship Committee with the Egyptian House of Representatives, Hashima Yasser Al Afari, Vice Chairman of the Committee, Salem Rashid Al Maftul and Naima Abdullah Al Sharhan, members of the Committee, Dr. Ahmed Eid Al Mansouri, Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, and Najla Ali Al Shamsi, members of the Council, and His Excellency Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Council. Tariq Ahmed Al Marzouqi, Assistant Secretary-General for Council Presidency Affairs, alongside Maryam Khalifa Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

At the beginning of the meeting, Saqr Ghobash thanked the Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives for his invitation to visit the Arab Republic of Egypt, which reflects the depth of the fraternal and historical relations rooted between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples and extending for more than 50 years, the foundations of which were laid by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, out of his belief Egypt’s status and pivotal role at the regional and international levels.

He pointed out the importance of activating the efforts of the Friendship Association between the two brotherly councils, and promoting joint parliamentary work, in a way that serves the hopes, aspirations and interests of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples in various fields, and discussing ways to strengthen and advance them to broader horizons.

He stressed the Federal National Council’s keenness to keep pace with the state’s directions and vision regarding various issues, foremost of which is promoting peace, security and stability around the world, as well as activating communication and cooperation with various parliaments, unions and international parliamentary organizations in view of the importance of the role of parliaments in representing their people in light of the various developments witnessed this year. Ascending.

He stressed the importance of promoting parliamentary cooperation between the Federal National Council and the Egyptian House of Representatives in a way that reflects aspects of cooperation in all fields to serve common interests. He praised Egypt’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in general and the Gaza Strip in particular and its communication with various regional and international parties in an attempt to reduce the escalation and calm the situation in Gaza. .

Saqr Ghobash thanked the Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives for the warm reception and hospitality since he and his accompanying delegation arrived in Cairo, wishing the Arab Republic of Egypt further progress, prosperity, prosperity, security, and stability.

For his part, Counselor Dr. Hanafi Jabali, Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives, welcomed the visit of Saqr Ghobash and the members of the delegation to the Arab Republic of Egypt, stressing the depth of the bilateral relations that bind the two brotherly countries and expressing his appreciation for the United Arab Emirates’ standing by Egypt within the framework of the established fraternal relations between the two countries at all levels.

During the meeting, Gebali reviewed the qualitative boom that Egypt is witnessing in the field of infrastructure, especially in the field of roads, which makes it a promising environment for investment. He stressed the congruence of Egyptian and Emirati views on regional issues, most notably the Palestinian issue, especially with regard to the refusal to displace Palestinians.

At the parliamentary level, he praised the level of Egyptian-Emirati parliamentary coordination and cooperation in international and regional parliamentary forums regarding issues of common concern.
