Russian Ambassador Georgy Borisenko received members of the Egyptian Committee of the World Youth Festival before traveling to Russia to participate in the festival in its 20th session, stressing that Russia welcomes the participation of Egyptian youth in this large international forum that includes 187 countries, where Egyptian youth will have the opportunity to learn and communicate about the cultures of those peoples.
Borisenko stressed his confidence in the Egyptian youth and their ability to present a good image of Egypt, noting the appreciation of the Russian side to the Egyptian state for supporting the participation of Egyptian youth in the Sochi Festival.
The delegation of the Egyptian Committee included Engineer Ahmed Barani, a graduate of the Presidential Program and Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Abdullah Al-Batash, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports, “Rapporteur,” Sherif Gad, President of the Egyptian Association for Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities, “General Secretary and Official Spokesman,” and Dr. Naji Al-Shihabi, Chairman of the Generation Party. And committee member.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Asya Turchieva, Cultural Advisor to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Cairo.
Engineer Ahmed Barani presented the stages of the committee’s work from the beginning of its work until the delegation was selected. Dr. Abdullah Al-Batash reviewed the efforts of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in supporting Egyptian participation in accordance with the directives of the Egyptian state and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi. Dr. Nagy Al-Shehaby discussed the history of Egyptian participation in the World Youth Festival.
In Russia, stressing the keenness of young people throughout the various decades to participate in the framework of distinguished Egyptian-Russian relations.
Sherif Gad, the committee’s official spokesman, thanked the Russian state for organizing a huge festival that includes 187 countries under these difficult circumstances, noting that this number of countries expresses Russia’s international standing and the support of friends around it.
At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Giorgi Borisenko wished the Egyptian youth success, saying, “I await your impression after returning.”
