The Dominican Embassy in Cairo celebrates its 180th Independence Day at the Republic Theater

The Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Cairo celebrated the 180th Independence Day of the Latin country, at the Republic Theater in the Cairo Opera House, where a singing evening was held with the participation of a large number of Egyptian and foreign diplomats.

The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Hazem Fahmy, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Americas Affairs, Ambassador Ashraf Mounir, Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the ambassadors of Cuba, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela, the Vatican, Paraguay, Argentina, Panama, Japan, Cambodia and Angola.

In her speech, Ambassador Yest Roman Maldonado, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic in Cairo, said that on the twenty-seventh of February, the Dominican Republic celebrates the 180th anniversary of its independence.

The Ambassador continued: It is a great honor and pride for me, as the Dominican Ambassador, to celebrate with you in the historic city of Cairo the 180th anniversary of our independence, through a musical performance that celebrates our history, identity, culture, and the birth of the Dominican Republic.

She added: This musical performance is a tribute to the sacrifices of our national heroes led by Juan Pablo Duarte, to the values ​​of dignity and freedom, which inspired our independence, and to the joy, solidarity and warm welcome that characterize the Dominican people. Continue: We will see the magic and beauty of our land in this musical performance through the sweet voice of the world-class Dominican soprano. The famous Nathalie Pena Comas, who has been nominated for numerous awards and serves as an international ambassador for Dominican culture.

The ambassador added: The music show for the Dominican celebration begins its tour from here in Cairo, where we feel proud, and it will continue to Madrid, Moscow and Ankara. I hope that music and culture will be a bridge to strengthen ties and solidarity with our sisters in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and strengthen our mutual commitment to peace.

The ambassador continued: On behalf of myself and the work team of the Dominican Embassy in Cairo, I extend my thanks to Ambassador Hazem Fahmy and Ambassador Ashraf Mounir for the continuous support. They are two pivotal figures in achieving our goals and joint projects.

I also thank those who helped us from the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and the Republic Theater to bring the celebration to a wonderful conclusion, sincerely. My wishes to the people of the two friendly countries, Egypt and the Dominican Republic, for progress and prosperity.
