Egypt hosts international port security experts from the US Coast Guard

The United States Embassy in Cairo announced that Cairo will host international port security experts from the US Coast Guard, from February 25 to 29.

According to a statement issued by the US Embassy in Egypt, employees of the embassy in Cairo and experts from the US Coast Guard International Port Security Program visited the Egyptian ports: “Ain Sokhna, Port Said, Damietta, and Alexandria, during their visit to Egypt.”

The American delegation met with Egyptian port authorities to exchange information about the application of international law for the security of ships and port facilities and best practices for port security in Egypt and the United States.

The US Embassy said, in its statement, that the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the two countries is part of the strong strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States, stressing that the partnership will establish a solid and secure foundation for regional and international trade that promises greater prosperity for both countries and the entire region.
