Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman and Director of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the work of the fifth session of the Joint Higher Committee between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Qatar was held in the Qatari capital, Doha, under the joint chairmanship of Mr. Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim.

Ambassador Abu Zeid stated that the Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed, at the opening of the work of the Supreme Committee, the greetings of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, President of the Republic, to his brother Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and his wishes for the government and people of the State of Qatar for continued progress and progress, expressing his aspiration for the work of this session to culminate. I wish the Supreme Committee success and concrete steps for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.
Minister Shukri stressed the important opportunities provided by the committee that open the door to a new phase of deeper and more comprehensive cooperation in various political, economic, commercial, security and technical fields between the two countries, taking advantage of the tangible capabilities available to the two countries, noting that the convening of the committee at this precise time makes coordination possible. Cooperation between brothers is more urgent in defense of the interests and capabilities of the Arab peoples and the security and stability of the region.
For his part, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar welcomed the holding of the current session of the Joint Higher Committee between the two countries, and the hoped-for role it will play in bringing the level of bilateral cooperation to distinguished horizons in line with the strong and complex relations that bring together the two countries, noting that the holding of the committee at such an important time confirms The joint commitment to enhance all aspects of bilateral cooperation, as well as to intensify coordination to contain and confront the challenges faced by the peoples of the Arab region.
The work of the fifth session of the Joint Higher Committee between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Qatar was concluded with the signing of the minutes of the committee’s work meeting by the foreign ministers of the two countries, in addition to the signing of the participating ministers and officials on a number of memorandums of understanding and joint cooperation programmes, as follows:
-A memorandum of understanding in the field of investment between the Egyptian General Investment Authority and the Qatari Investment Promotion Agency.
-The fourth executive program for cooperation between the two countries in the field of education and scientific research.
-Memorandum of understanding in the field of international humanitarian law.
-An executive program in the field of social solidarity.
-An executive program for the cooperation agreement in the field of youth and sports for the years 2024-2026.
-A memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of diplomatic training and exchange of experiences between the Egyptian Institute of Diplomatic Studies and the Qatari Diplomatic Institute.
