China condemns the targeting of more than 100 Palestinians who were waiting to receive aid in Gaza

By Manal Abdel Fattah

China expressed its deep shock and strong condemnation at the death of more than 100 Palestinians in an Israeli attack while they were waiting for aid in Gaza, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said.

The spokeswoman’s statements came in response to an inquiry regarding reports that Israeli forces opened fire on a crowd of Palestinians waiting to receive aid in Gaza City on Thursday, killing at least 112 people and wounding more than 760 others.

At a regular press conference, Mao said, “We offer our condolences to the victims, and express our sympathy to the injured.”

The spokeswoman added that China urges all parties concerned, especially Israel, to immediately cease fire, stop fighting, seriously protect the safety of civilians, ensure humanitarian access and avoid further humanitarian disasters.
