Christie’s Auction House in New York announced an exhibition of antiquities from the whole of the ancient Mediterranean

Christie’s Auction House in New York announced an exhibition of a group of antiquities from the whole of the ancient Mediterranean for the sale which is set to be held on April 9th on a global basis. The group will comprise of different artifacts of the ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian civilizations from the period between the third millennium BC and the third century AD.

The sale includes column of Pharaonic stone schist, a type of stone made and aged by Meriptah and which dates back to 1330-1250 BC.

The stone was once featured in the Edward Louis-Joseph, 1st Baron Empain’s collection. Included in the exposition would be a collection of antique and European engravings on gemstones that was owned by Dr. Corinne Bronfman from the years 1947 to 2022 in Washington, DC.

Also, the exhibition features a life-sized Roman marble statue, a Roman marble altar, and a Roman bronze flower that were restored in 1836 and still preserved after 101 years.
