Lionel Messi won the Ballon d’or for the eighth time, setting a new record.
The ceremony was held at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, France.
Messi scored seven goals and he was a main reason to lead Argentina to victory in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He also had a fantastic season with PSG in 2022/2023, he scored 41 goals in 47 games across all competitions.
Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Erling Haaland took the top three spots in the poll, all of them made an outstanding seasons.
However, Salah, of course, is one of the world’s greatest players, but this is the first time since 2018 he’s been out of the top ten; he took 11th place in the Ballon d’or ranking.
