The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine created the website “Diplomacy in Wartime”, which tells about Ukrainian wartime diplomacy during the Russian war and summarizes the results of the work of diplomats over the past two years in connection with strengthening Ukraine and strengthening international support.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that in this time of unprecedented challenges and difficulties, Ukrainian diplomacy has reinvented the principles of diplomatic work in order to achieve extremely important results for our state.
He added: “The fires of war burned in one way or another every Ukrainian region, almost every house, almost every family. But this fire also burned bridges with the past.
For diplomats, this means that the word ‘impossible’ no longer exists in our dictionary.”
He explained that since February 2022, the diplomatic team of President Volodymyr Zelensky has been working in a special mode of wartime diplomacy, in a stressful, risky, daring but well-thought-out mode, which changes the rules of the diplomatic game.
He pointed out that despite all the difficulties, Ukraine, in cooperation with its partners, succeeded in establishing a global coalition to support it in resisting Russian aggression, and has harnessed and continues to harness an unprecedented scale of military aid from partners, and is moving forward with confidence towards joining the European Union, It supports global food security, increases the pressure of sanctions and the isolation of the aggressor country, and fights for justice.
He continued: Thanks to the coordinated efforts of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s team, Ukraine was able to lift the ban on political decisions related to providing all seven types of modern foreign weapons necessary for our defenders by partners, such as anti-tank weapons, NATO artillery, multiple missile systems, modern air defense weapons, Western tanks and long-range missiles. Range and fighters.
Even in times of large-scale war, we open new horizons in the world for the Ukrainian state, business and citizens, expand diplomatic presence and attract investments for the development of our country, he stressed.
He said: Ukraine continues to develop the Ukraine Recovery Conference platform, the Ukrainian President’s humanitarian initiative under the title “Grains from Ukraine,” the Crimean International Platform, the peace formula proposed by the Ukrainian President, and other global and strategic initiatives.
He added that within the framework of the New Horizons policy, Ukraine put forward the initiative for the renaissance of Ukrainian-African relations. In 2022-2023, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba made three diplomatic tours on the African continent, and for the first time in the history of bilateral relations, he visited Morocco, Rwanda, Mozambique, Liberia, Ethiopia and Equatorial Guinea.
He added that, as part of the Black Sea Grain Transport Initiative in 2022-2023, nearly 4 million tons of agricultural products were sent to African countries (Libya, Algeria, Egypt, Kenya, Sudan, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Somalia, and Morocco).
