The Bahraini Ministry of Information and Gulf Radio and Television organize the “Dana Drama Award”

Under the patronage of Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the Bahraini Ministry of Information, in cooperation with Gulf Radio and Television, is organizing the “Dana Drama Award” in conjunction with the sixteenth session of the Gulf Radio Festival. And television, which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain next May.

On this occasion, Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed the importance of the Kingdom of Bahrain hosting the sixteenth session of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival as a Gulf forum that celebrates media creativity in the field of radio and television, and because of its important role in unifying media visions at the level of the Arabian Gulf region, and celebrating excellence in The field of radio and television, and honoring the creative youth energies in this vital field.

He praised the launch of the Al Dana Drama Award in cooperation with Gulf Radio and Television to motivate stars to be creative and distinguished in the field of drama, noting His Highness the leading position of Gulf drama and the works it has presented throughout its history, so that this award comes to appreciate the efforts of creators in this field, wishing those in charge of the festival all the best. Good luck and success in holding the sixteenth edition to complement the successes witnessed in previous editions of this festival. He also wished all participants in the Al Dana Drama Award good luck and success.

For his part, Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information, expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his generous sponsorship of the Al Dana Drama Award, which reflects his keenness to support creators and artists in the field of radio and television.

Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi stressed that the Ministry of Information welcomes hosting the sixteenth session of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival and will harness all its capabilities to make the event a success, based on its continuing role in enhancing cooperation and interconnection between official and private radio and television organizations and institutions, developing joint media production, and its continued keenness to encourage creative people. Wishing all participants in the festival and award good luck and success.

In turn, Mr. Majri bin Mubarak Al-Qahtani, Director General of the Gulf Radio and Television Corporation and Secretary-General of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his sponsorship and support of the Al Dana Awards for Gulf Drama, expressing his thanks to Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information, for his interest and keenness. To hold the 16th session of the festival in a different and distinctive way that reflects the status of Gulf media and art and its distinction regionally and internationally.

Al-Qahtani affirmed his confidence that the Al Dana Awards for Drama are a great addition and a qualitative leap for the sixteenth session of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival and an incentive for creativity and excellence, to be added to the Al Ashraa Awards for radio and television competitions and digital media and film competitions for the public and private sectors and individuals. He explained that the festival, throughout its ancient history, which began in the year 1980 is a major media and artistic event, a meeting place for pioneers and stars, and a maker of creators.

The phase of receiving nominations for the Al Dana Award began on Friday, March 8, and will continue until next April 25, through the Gulf Radio and Television Festival website via the following link: https://gulf-festival.com

The entries will be evaluated by a jury that includes a group of senior critics and specialists in the artistic field from the Gulf and Arab countries. The results will be sorted on the ninth of next May, and then the names and winning works will be announced on the award’s website. While the winners will be awarded prizes at the conclusion of the sixteenth session of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival, which will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from May 28 to 30, 2024.

It is noteworthy that the “Al Dana Drama Award” includes 9 categories: Best Dramatic Work (Social Series, Comedy Series), Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Rising Actor (Young Actor, Young Actress), Best Soundtrack, Best Script. , and Best Director, with a total value of all prizes of $110,000.
