Ambassador to the Chinese Foreign Ministry: A comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue must be found

Ambassador Wang Kejian, Ambassador at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Ambassador Khalid bin Muhammad Manzalawi, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, and exchanged views with him on the conflict in the Gaza Strip, during his visit to Egypt.

Ambassador Wang Kejian explained that the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip has caused a serious humanitarian crisis that cannot tolerate any delay in achieving a comprehensive ceasefire and ensuring humanitarian relief.

He said that the Chinese side is keen to continue working with Arab and Islamic countries in order to advance a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue on the basis of the “two-state solution” at an early date.

Ambassador Wang Kejian also met with Ambassador Kamel Galal, Director of the Palestinian Affairs Department at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and exchanged views with him on the conflict in the Gaza Strip, during his visit to Egypt.

Ambassador Wang Kejian explained that this round of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has continued for more than 5 months, causing a serious humanitarian crisis and ongoing negative repercussions.

He said that the Chinese side is keen to continue working with the many Arab and Islamic countries, including Egypt, in order to advance a ceasefire and fighting, ensure humanitarian relief, and find a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue on the basis of the “two-state solution” at an early date.

Ambassador Wang Kejian also met with Dr. Riyad Al-Maliki, Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and Magdi Al-Khalidi, Advisor to the Palestinian President for Diplomatic Affairs, and exchanged views with them on the conflict in the Gaza Strip, during his visit to Palestine.

Ambassador Wang Kejian explained that the Chinese side expresses its deep concern about the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip without a solution and the extremely dangerous humanitarian conditions there.

He added: Since the outbreak of the conflict, the Chinese side has been making efforts to achieve a ceasefire and violence and protect civilians, and will continue its work with the international community to push for an end to the war as quickly as possible, and make tireless efforts to find a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue on the basis of the “two-state solution.”
